Side Hustles
Every Writer deserves to own a Side Hustle and add an extra source of income to their imaginary pockets. Let's look at 2 Side Hustle Ideas anyone can pursue alongside their Writing career.
1. Selling Ebooks
Selling Ebooks can be one of the easiest ways to an extra income source. You just need one skill - Writing. I'm sure you can handle that, can't you Writer?
Creating an Ebook is pretty simple and free. Get on Canva or Google Docs and write out your first ebook. Sprinkle some basic design elements to keep readers glued.
Let's find you a place to sell your ebooks. Here's a list of 3 platforms to start selling your ebooks.
Kindle
Gumroad
Etsy
Getting started on all of them is completely FREE. Go ahead and test them out and make bucks selling Ebooks.
5 Tips to Sell More Digital Products on Gumroad Selling digital products is one of the best opportunities to make money. You can create a product once and sell it 1,000+ times. nick-nolan.medium.com
If you're planning to use Gumroad to sell Ebooks, give this blog a read to learn what works and what doesn't to get more sales on each of your Ebooks.
[Note : I've never really 'sold' Ebooks, but I've written and sold them for clients on platforms like Gumroad .]
2. Running a Paid Newsletter
Start with running a Free Newsletter. Give out a boatload of free content. Do this till you hit 500-1000 subscribers. Then start creating premium and in-depth content. Turn your Free Newsletter Paid and keep both options open.
Those who want your paid content will turn into paid subs, the rest will keep consuming your free content. Hook leads with "Free" and offer them advanced and premium content in the "Paid" one.
My 3 platforms for starting a Free Newsletter :
BeeHiiv [Stellar UX design and user-friendly text editor]
Substack [Best for Beginners]
Revue [Best for getting Subs from Twitter]
LinkedIn Newsletter is great but it has limited features. For instance, it won't show you the email ids of your Newsletter subscribers. And that sucks.
Check out this Newsletter Guide from Josh Spector to help you get started.
I showed you how to CREATE a Newsletter. But to get leads and opportunities you need to learn to GROW it.

Quote
I'll end today's edition with a Quote I came across last week while reading Everything is Fucked by Mark Manson.
The problem isn’t that we don’t know how not to get punched in the face. The problem is that, at some point, likely a long time ago, we got punched in face, and instead of punching back, we decided we deserved it.
- Mark Manson , Everything is F*cked: A Book About Hope
With this, you've come to the end of today's edition of the Digital Nomads.
I'll see you soon next week.
Best,
Sarvam
